June Book Group : Ready, Set, Go!

June 1, 2009

As if it’s not exciting enough that it’s a brand spanking new month (and a warm one at that!), our first Book Group starts TODAY.

If you’re taking part, we hope you’ve got your hands on the book  okay and make sure to let us know that you’re joining in.  If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late to throw your hat into the ring.  You’ve got a couple of weeks before we start posting discussion questions so it’s more than enough time to scour Amazon/Ebay/your local library etc.

As promised, one lucky reader will win our Monthly Book Giveaway (just make sure you pipe up and let us know you’re taking part).  We’d hate for you to be disappointed in the prize because you’ve read it before so the winner can choose which book they’d like to win out of the following:

The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold;
The Diving-Bell and the Butterfly
by Jean Dominique Bauby; or
The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld

The winner will be picked (randomly) and announced later this month and we’ll give you more details of the books listed so that you can make an informed decision!

We hope you enjoy taking part.  Let us know your first impressions of the book!

    Well, I’ve started it, and I’m about 100 pages in. And I have to say I’m struggling a bit. To me, it has flashes of brilliance, then pages and pages that don’t hold my attention, and I find myself having to re-read lots. Will persevere ….
